Helping to Change the World—One Person at a Time ...

A word from God’s Word:
“It is God himself, in his mercy, who has given us this wonderful work [of telling his Good News to others], and so we never give up” (2 Corinthians 4:1, TLB).

A Wall or a Cathedral?

Dear ACTS Friend,

Do you remember the story of the man walking by a construction site who stopped and asked a workman what he was doing? “Can’t you see?” the man replied with a look of disgust, “I’m hauling rocks.”

Not satisfied with the answer, the passerby asked a second worker the same question. “We’re putting up a wall,” he replied without looking up from his work.

The passerby asked a third worker the same question. The workman put down his tools, wiped his forehead and pointed up to the top of the scaffolding. With a big smile he answered, “We’re building a cathedral.”

Three men all doing the same job but one was hauling rocks, one was putting up a wall, and one was building a cathedral!

Reading this story again reminds me of all who support the gospel outreach of ACTS International. When you support ACTS ministry, you are not just making a donation, you are helping to build a cathedral of lives for Jesus Christ from around the world—this is helping to build the body of Christ on earth and is an investment in eternity!

This year, 2012, is ACTS forty-first year publishing the gospel. Since 1971 over 40 million of ACTS printed gospel brochures have been distributed in several countries by several hundred churches, chaplains and individuals. Since we went on the Internet in 1998 mega thousands more people have been reached worldwide with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.

From ACTS online ministry alone we have received 36,686 salvation and re-commitment to Jesus Christ decision responses from 146 countries that we know about. And currently we are sending out over two million copies of Daily Encounter every week to over 400,000 worldwide subscribers. Thousands more are being reached every month via the ACTS websites.

This is how ACTS is building a cathedral of lives—lives broken by sin, lovingly picked up by Jesus Christ and placed into the heavenly cathedral-body he is building for eternity.

Following are just a few of the many thankful responses received from those who are being helped through ACTS ministries.

SB from the Philippines: “ACTS made my spiritual life more meaningful and abundant in a way that I apply the teachings in my daily life. Thank you so much for sending me messages.”

LM, a disabled veteran writes: “Your Daily Encounter and subject matter continues to amaze me and gives me hope and direction. I am a disabled veteran with post PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and I am winning the battle, in part by your daily inspiration and teaching. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Yonas from Ethiopia: “Thank you for this special gift you share with us. You have been, through the help of the Holy Spirit, a source of inspiration and strength to us here in Ethiopia. We have been sharing with many people irrespective of religious differences nearly every single Daily Encounter you have been very kindly sending us since 2010. On behalf of my family, friends, colleagues and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, I thank you very much.”

JS shares: “I have been following your Daily Encounter devotions for almost a year now and I must confess, they have helped me grow spiritually, and not just me, I share them with my fellow brothers and sisters! May the Lord God continue to bless you with more wisdom and knowledge in Jesus name!”

Gatobu from China writes: “I am a student in China and this is my fourth year receiving your messages. You have been the best encourager to me all these years. Every morning when I wake and read your Daily Encounter, it helps me grow spiritually towards God. Thank you so much for what you are doing.”

Dr. DD, a Family Chiropractic, Lifestyle Coaching and Nutrition specialist, said about a recent issue of Daily Encounter: “This should be sent to EVERY church in the world. Thank you!” This Daily Encounter was entitled, “God’s Goal Isn’t to Make Us Good” … it is to make us whole, for only to the degree that we are made whole will our lifestyle, actions, relationships, and goodness be wholesome.

So dear ACTS Supporter, know that your support is not only making ACTS gospel ministry possible, together we are building a cathedral for Jesus Christ—a cathedral that will last for all eternity. You are truly appreciated.

As you stand with us again this month may God richly bless and reward you in his own abundant way.

Gratefully in Christ,

Dick and Joy Innes
