40% U.S. Children Born out of Wedlock!

I read a very alarming report this past week which stated that 40% of children in the U.S. are born out of wedlock—that’s up from 18% in 1980! This is stated in a report by the National Center for Health Statistics (http://tinyurl.com/ovoemt*).
According to Kaiser Family Health Facts.org, in 2006 there were 4,265,555 births in the USA. Thus, each year some 1.7 million children are born to single moms. In 20 years this will equal 34 million more “fatherless” children (http://tinyurl.com/27avvxn).
Can you imagine what these upcoming generations will be like with millions of children growing up fatherless? Understandably, many fatherless children have major personal problems and insecurities, and so many are involved in crime. We simply cannot improve on God’s design for the family, nor can we neglect God’s moral laws—all given for mankind’s wellbeing and protection. We ignore these to our peril.
Tragically, as a nation, the more we have eliminated God from the public arena, the faster has been our moral decline. Having children out of wedlock, the shocking record of abortion for almost any reason (not to mention barbaric partial-birth abortion), the growing acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle and gay marriage, with even some churches not only accepting the homosexual lifestyle, but also ordaining homosexual pastors (and very recently an Anglican bishop)—all of which are behaviors that God’s Word condemns because they are destructive of those whom God loves—us!
If ever there were a day when the Church—and we individual Christians—needed to do everything in our power to greatly increase the communication of the gospel of Jesus Christ—the only hope for our sin-sick world—IT IS TODAY!
If we don’t reach our nation (and many other nations) for Christ, of one thing we can be certain … not only will we see an ever accelerating moral decline, but we are just as likely to see an ever increasing growth of Islam—that has been reported as the fastest growing religion in the USA, and the world! Around the world there are increasing attacks on Christians. Radical Islamic terrorists are determined to kill all the Christians they can … and all the Americans, Westerners, and especially Jews. We in the West know nothing of persecution—but without a great spiritual awakening that day is bound to be coming.
Even more tragic is the fact that people without Christ are eternally lost, without hope forever!
The mission of ACTS Int. is to communicate the gospel to as many people as we possibly can while the doors of opportunity are so wide open. In addition to our gospel websites, our most effective outreach tool is Daily Encounter—now going to 333,000+ worldwide subscribers every weekday of the year. Every day we are seeing decisions for Christ—either for salvation or re-commitments to Christ.
Building up Daily Encounter (and maintaining our 19 gospel websites) has taken a tremendous amount of work and advertising costs. To reach so many non-Christians we advertise via the secular media which, last year alone netted 95,000 new subscribers.
It is our prayer and financial supporters who have made and are making all of ACTS Gospel outreach possible. For your help we will be eternally grateful.
Coming into the lean summer months, and with the loss of many of our supporters because of the economy, these are very challenging days to keep on reaching so many people around the world for Christ.
So, if you not a regular supporter, will you prayerfully consider what God might have you do to stand with us with your monthly support. Please note our special prayer requests below.
I am always challenged by God’s word that says, "If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will grow—perhaps it all will" (Ecclesiastes 4:6, TLB).
